Hello! I am a Newborn photographer near Corpus Christi, TX! My home studio is located in Woodsboro, TX! Newborn sessions are offered on Tuesday – Friday morning at 9 AM in my home-studio. Options for Newborn sessions are the Full Boutique Sessions that include parent and sibling poses and a full posing workflow for your newborn baby, and Newborn Wrapped Petite which is an abbreviated baby-only session in which baby is photographed with wraps on.
Not looking for a FULL session? Click here or scroll down to the bottom of the page for info on my Newborn Mini Wrapped Sessions.
Posed Newborn sessions are the most popular sessions that my clients book. These sessions are typically up to four hours. Beanbag posing with 2-3 colored backdrops, Signature studio outfits, hats, headbands, and accessories are always provided. These sessions include Parent/Sibling poses, up to 2 prop setups, wrapped poses, and full newborn posing. It is preferred that baby is sleepy. Newborn sessions are for babies aged 7-21 days old, but we can photograph babies in newborn like sessions for up to 8 weeks. I can never guarantee any certain pose to my parents, as posing is allowed by what baby will feel like doing. Some advanced poses take a lot of cooperation from your baby to safely perform. I will never attempt any advanced poses on an unsettled baby. You will be provided with a Newborn Session Prep guide It’s recommended to follow the tips to maximize your session time with a settled baby!
In order to full service my photography clients in a way that I feel is most appropriate and customized, I limit my full newborn session slots to about 4 per month, and those spots book quickly as our boutique service & photography style is highly sought after…. so call me about scheduling your spot for your due date TODAY!
Wrapped Poses are a part of my Posed Newborn Sessions as well.
Each Newborn Session get a “Potato Sack” Pose – I have a wide selection of cute little animal hats, or you can opt for a simple bonnet, headband or nothing at all on baby’s head!
I have two different mermaid tails, so this is a popular outfit request from my newborn parents for their little girls!
My military and first responder (EMT/Fire/Police) families get 10% off of their session fees. One of the more requested set ups is one with our flag wraps.
While I prefer to photograph newborn babies naked, as this helps capture their littlest details, I have parents that prefer for their baby to have an outfit on, and that’s totally ok! I do provide pants for newborn boys and skirts, and other outfits for little girls! I am always updating the outfits I have, so if an outfit is requested, I try to get something unique for each family if time allows. I also have a wide array of hats, headbands, bonnets, head-pieces, etc to match your color preferences!
Safety is ALWAYS number one! Even though it appears that newborn babies are suspended, photos, holding their own heads, or in props where they look like they are balancing, these images are made as composites, which means that multiple images are taken with parents or an assistant holding the baby, and placed together in a photo editing program to result in the final image. Pet sibling photos are taken of the baby and animal separately and the image is composited to bring them into the same image, as even well known pets can be unpredictable with signs and sounds of their new baby siblings.
Rainbow Babies? Check!
“After every storm, come a rainbow!” – If you’ve experienced infant or pregnancy loss…. we are here to help you celebrate your new sweet little rainbow! Make sure to checkmark your rainbow box on your questionnaire, and we will make sure to include a set up that celebrates your baby and his/her angel siblings that have come before!
All of my posing techniques are safe and comfortable for your newborn. You can be assured that your baby is in knowledgeable hands, but no photo is ever worth harming your newborn. I always have someone holding baby at all times for photos that require composites to make baby APPEAR that they are holding their own weight such as the Froggy pose.
What kind of Prop set ups do you have available?
Props! Prop set ups are fun, and can be a sweet reminder of the items your baby could ONCE fit in, they are SO tiny at this stage! The Full Posed Newborn Session allows for up to two prop set ups depending on what baby will allow. I have newborn sized beds (both wood and antique wire versions), a posing chair, a white distressed drawer, which is a favorite of my parents. I also have wooden bowls, a 1950’s vintage scale, a little vintage garden bathtub with spout, buckets (metal and wooden), a teeny wheelbarrow, and a Marshmallow tin (for babies upto 7 1/2 LBS), among others. (feel free to message me to see a photo of any of the props that might interest you.)
I love fun creative set ups too, such as my popular summertime set up with the pool backdrop and float (complete with swimwear for baby), and photographing dramatic artwork pose creations such as the “hanging” pose (safety note: baby is never actually suspended).
Here are a few of our client-faves!
What about Family & Sibling Photos?
THIS is where it’s AT! I love parent poses, because you can really see the love our moms and dads have for their new babies! Look at these gorgeous images, and imagine yourself there! <3 All the feels!!
I offer both black and white images and color versions, depending on the style you prefer! We will address this in your Newborn Session Questionnaire at your Consultation! I love creating beautiful dramatic black and white parent images, my personal fave!
I offer lighter color backdrops as well – or you can opt for an in-home session life-style session and have your parent poses taken in your own living environment!
I prefer not to be in front of the camera, but still would like to have memorable parent/baby connection photos!
Absolutely!! I have a simple “Simba” pose that my parents love! Although I DO encourage you to have photos with your baby, because that will be baby’s way to remember this time AS WELL when they get older, this pose is a favorite and creates such a wonderful connection of the hands that held this tiny being!!!
How would you capture my baby’s SMALLEST details??!
One of my favorite aspects of the newborn session are those tiny lips, lashes, toes and rolls!!! I will try my best to focus in on these areas for you, to be able to have memories of all these tiny details, because they will grow up SO fast!
With each newborn session, I create a digital artwork featuring YOUR baby! This is a unique piece of art that I am offering to all of my newborn parents now, and the digital creation is tailored to you in some way! Can you imagine what unique creation that will be made for you?
So my question for YOU! Are you ready to capture this moment?! Contact me TODAY to book a FREE consultation!!!
THE NEWBORN WRAPPED MINI SESSION
What To Expect:
This newborn mini session is an abbreviated shooting time that last up to two hours, and two wraps, one prop, and minimalistic posing. The Mini Session is of baby only. This is a session for babies who are age newborn to 6 weeks old. This session is for in-studio only. Parent/Sibling photos are only provided in the Full Newborn Session.
Newborn Mini Wrapped Sessions are all wrapped poses. Usually we start out with a prop when baby is fast asleep. Prop shots are anything from my newborn beds, buckets, to drawers, etc. If there is a certain prop that you are interested in, let me know before hand, so that I can plan a set-up for your baby! I have a wooden drawer, newborn beds, a crate, and buckets, that I use most often with the wrapped sessions.
If baby is too unsettled, and do the baby’s photos with a blanket backdrop first. The Potato Sack Pose is standard with every Newborn Mini. Its my favorite! Some of the headpieces I have for this pose include a a floral crown, a boys hat/cap, panda, mouce (complete with a cheese lovie), a koala, bunny, bear, lamb, an elephant (and a peanut lovie), and a full set of barnyard animals to choose from, and I am always on the look out for other cute hats. If you want to see a particular one, please message me and I’d be happy to show you!
I always try to get a Macro of the lips, lashes, and toes, because those are super important to document! <3
If baby is awake, that’s great too! Parents LOVE awake shots, because they get to capture those early expressions and big curious eyes that are taking in their new surroundings!
